I Mastered a Cookies and Cream Milkshake Cake

This cake will remind you of your favorite milkshake. The cake and buttercream frosting are cookies and cream flavored, the filling and drips on top are whipped ganache, fresh whipped cream on top, and crushed Oreos. This cake is perfect for all summer gatherings.

Recipe:

Cake-

Ingredients:

¾ cup salted butter, melted

1 cup + 2 tbsp sugar

3 eggs room temperature preferred

2 tsp vanilla extract

1¾ cups + 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour

¾ cup crushed Oreos

3/4 tbsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

¼ cup + 2 tablespoon yogurt

½ cup + 1 tablespoon milk

Vanilla Buttercream Frosting:

3 sticks butter

4 cups powdered sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla

½ teaspoon salt

¼ cup crushed Oreos

Chocolate Ganache:

8 ounces chocolate chips

8 ounces heavy cream

Whipped cream:

¼ cup heavy cream

1½ teaspoons powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

Cake: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease and line with parchment paper three 8-inch pans. Whisk the flour, crushed Oreos, baking powder, and salt together in a medium bowl. Set aside. Whisk the melted butter and sugar in a large bowl. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract. Mix the milk and yogurt in a small bowl or liquid measuring cup. Beat the flour mixture into the butter mixture in 3 batches, alternating with the milk mixture, beginning and ending with flour, until just smooth. Divide the batter between the prepared pans. Bake until the cakes are lightly browned on top and the centers spring back when pressed, about 30 minutes. Let cakes cool for 15 minutes. Remove from pans and transfer to cooling racks and let cool 45 minutes to cool completely. Remove the parchment paper.

Frosting: Beat the butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar one cup at a time. Mix in vanilla extract and salt and beat the frosting on high until it whitens about 2 minutes. Add in the crushed Oreos. Mix until just combined.

Ganache: Heat the heavy cream in the microwave for 2 minutes. Add in the chocolate. Let it sit for 3 minutes. Mix until the ganache is smooth. Chill the ganache in the fridge for 30 minutes. Whip the ganache until it is fluffy and smooth and has lightened in color.

Whipped cream: Whip the cream. Add in the sugar and vanilla.

Decorating:

Step 1:Place your first cake layer on a ten inch cardboard round.

Step 2: Spread the ganache on top and continue with the rest of the layers without putting it on the top.

Step 3: Completely frost the outside and the top of your cake with the buttercream; using a flat frosting spatula (offset spatula).

Step 4:Put the ganache in the microwave for 20 seconds. Pour the ganache on top and make drips going down the sides.

Step 5:Pipe the whipped cream on top and place a straw in the cream.

Enjoy!
